Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The non-resident Angolan ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Albino Malungo, participated in the closing session of the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence, which was highly sponsored by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.<\/b><\/p>\n

In this forum for interreligious dialogue at the invitation of the Government of Bahrain, held on Friday (4), the head of Angola’s diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirates stood alongside church leaders from the four corners of the world, Muslims, Jews , Orthodox and Catholics.<\/p>\n

The event, held in Bahrain, was attended by Pope Francis and other religious leaders, including Islamists, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Muammad Amad al-Tayyeb, and the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I.<\/p>\n

The meeting praised the title of this important Forum for Dialogue between East and West, as well as its significance for human coexistence, with the conclave calling for conflict resolution through dialogue and negotiation.<\/p>\n

The forum called for an end “to all ongoing fighting on earth or, at the very least, for a prolonged truce, to rebuild bridges of dialogue, understanding, trust and to establish peace in the world.”<\/p>\n

Pope Francis, visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain from 3 to 6 November 2022, is developing an extensive program that includes meetings with local authorities, civil society and the diplomatic corps accredited in that country.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the Pope presided over the Ecumenical Meeting and Prayer for Peace at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia in Awali, Bahrain, attended by thousands of people.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Albino Malungo traveled on Thursday (3) to the Kingdom of Bahrain and returned Saturday night to the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
