Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Ombudsman of the Republic of Angola, Florbela Arau\u0301jo, discussed with her counterpart in South Africa, Kholeka Gcaleka, and with the Military Ombudsman, General Vusi Masondo, the need to share experiences and identify areas for cooperation. institutional framework, among other topics of common interest.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a note from the Angolan Ombudsman, the result of this work will be reduced to cooperation agreements. “To achieve this aim, the parties created focal points that will establish the institutional relationship for the pursuit of the outlined objectives”, says the document.<\/p>\n

Florbela Arau\u0301jo is in South Africa as part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the creation of that country’s Military Ombudsman.<\/p>\n

After being yesterday in Johannesburg, at the ceremony of the 10th anniversary of the Military Ombudsman, Florbela Arau\u0301jo participated, in Pretoria, in the annual symposium on “The Role of the Ombudsman in the Oversight of Military-Civil Architecture: Threats, Resilience, Receptibility , and Future Implications\u201d.<\/p>\n

Today, Florbela Arau\u0301jo will give two lectures, one on “The Role of the Ombudsman and his Scope of Action in Defense of Citizens’ Rights” and another on “The role and mandate of the Ombudsman and the duty of cooperation of the of the Central Administration of the State”.<\/p>\n

The lecture, to be held in conjunction with the Embassy of Angola, is aimed at the Angolan community in South Africa.<\/p>\n

The visit by the Angolan Ombudsman, who is also the president of the CPLP Network of Ombudsmen, will last five days.<\/p>\n
