Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The carnival group Unia\u0303o Recreativo Kilamba was honored by Galeria do Semba, for its contribution to Angolan culture and artistic manifestations, with the group’s commander, Poly Rocha, receiving a certificate and a painting from the hands of the carnival artist Rolda\u0303o Ferreira.<\/b><\/p>\n

The event, held on Wednesday, served to celebrate National Independence Day and within the scope of activities aimed at raising culture in the Nelito Soares community.<\/p>\n

The members of the carnival group were grateful for the recognition of that cultural space, which is neighboring the temporary headquarters of the carnival group, both have the Kilamba Recreation and Cultural Center as partners.<\/p>\n

Unia\u0303o Recreativo Kilamba has been in existence for seven years and despite its short existence, it has the following trophies in its gallery: Class A winner in 2018 and 2019, second place in 2017, the year it debuted in this category and third place in 2020 In Class B he was the winner in 2016, after winning the league for access in 2015.<\/p>\n

Unia\u0303o Recreativo Kilamba was created on July 27, 2015 in honor of the patron of the neighborhood, where they are based, Nelito Soares, and among the partners is the Centro Recreativo e Cultural Kilamba. The group is focused on training for different areas of Carnival by carrying out various workshops. Within the scope of Procultura-Diversidade, the group received funding from the European Union.<\/p>\n

In the wake of the activities focused on the commemorations of the 11th of November, an edition of the Kialumingo program on Ra\u0301dio Luanda took place at the Galeria do Semba with the presence of the artists: Santocas, Mirol and Voto Gonc\u0327alves, who approached music in the process that culminated in National Independence.<\/p>\n

Galeria do Semba is a museum space focused on the memory of the different styles of music and national rhythms and is committed to transforming a space for research, debates and parallel activities around Angolan culture. In its conception, the works of Jomo Fortunato and Carlos Lamartine were decisive.<\/p>\n

After the opening, January 25, 2020, Rosa Roque directed the space that closes with the restrictions imposed by Covid. In this first quarter of this year, DJ Manya and Dom Caetano will manage the space, the tributes to Elias Dya Kimuezo, Xabanu, Tunicha Miranda, book launches and the project “Ha\u0301 um Semba, em Cada Canto”, visits by tourists and students as well as national researchers mark this new phase.<\/p>\n
