Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Argentine ambassador to Angola, Alejandro Verdiel, yesterday presented a proposal to offer satellite imagery services to the port of Lobito, during his working visit to Benguela province.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the Argentine diplomat, these satellite services are mainly aimed at security and monitoring of access to the Lobito port company.<\/p>\n

“The Argentine satellites pass twice a day over Angola and capture images of the places where these services are bought and acquired”, he assured.<\/p>\n

Alejandro Verdiel said, on the other hand, that this is a modern and very useful operation.<\/p>\n

“It allows you to know how many ships are about to arrive in Porto and exactly how many days of navigation are left for their effective berthing”, he reinforced.<\/p>\n

On his first day of his visit to Porto do Lobito, on Monday, the Argentine diplomat said that the Lobito Corridor plays an important role in this regard as it connects, by sea, with South America and neighboring countries of Angola.<\/p>\n

In this regard, he highlighted Agriculture as one of the areas in which relations between Angola and Argentina can be strengthened.<\/p>\n

In addition to Agriculture, he pointed out the Transport sector as another area in which cooperation between the two countries could be extended in the future.<\/p>\n

“Therefore, my visit to Lobito is yet another proof that things are progressing very well”, reinforced Alejandro Verdiel.<\/p>\n

Port open to the world<\/b><\/p>\n

In turn, the chairman of the Board of Directors of Porto do Lobito, Celso Rosas, highlighted that, as a friendly country, Angola has privileged relations with Argentina.<\/p>\n

“We are a port open to the world and we believe that we have a lot to do in terms of relations between our countries”, began by saying the port manager on the occasion of the visit of the ambassador of that Latin American country to this unit assigned to the Ministry of Transport.<\/p>\n

Celso Rosas expressed his satisfaction with the visit of ambassador Alejandro Verdiel, recalling that when the Luanda International Fair (Filda) was held, he had already promised to travel to Benguela province and concomitantly to Porto do Lobito.<\/p>\n

Once the visit was completed last Monday night, the PCA of the Lobito port company was available to show the potential of this institution based in the province of Benguela.<\/p>\n

“We are here, today, to show all the potential that we have, through the Lobito Corridor and our Port, if they can develop import and export acts in the Angola-Argentina direction and vice versa”, he recalled.<\/p>\n

Celso Rosas admitted, on the other hand, that there is much to be done in the field of relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

“We believe that Argentina is available to do its best to strengthen these relations that may prove to be very fruitful”, concluded the CEO of the Port of Lobito.<\/p>\n

However, for today, the diplomat from the Latin American homeland has scheduled a meeting with the governor of Benguela, Lui\u0301s Nunes, in which issues related to the strengthening of cooperation with Angola in different domains should be addressed.<\/p>\n

Alejandro Verdiel will also visit the business group Leonor Carrinho, as well as the local management of Edic\u0327o\u0303es Novembro, tutor of Jornal de Angola, Jornal dos Esportes and several regional titles, including O Litoral, aimed at the provinces of Benguela and Cuanza-Sul , which has accompanied the publications.<\/p>\n

Yesterday afternoon, the Argentine diplomat also visited the Archeology Museum of Benguela.<\/p>\n
