The Angolan Head of State will speak with the participants about the ongoing reforms in the country, the economic prospects and investment opportunities.<\/p>\n

The NABA Business Forum (Norwegian-African Business Association) – Oslo Chamber of Commerce will feature 23 Norwegian and eight (8) Angolan companies.<\/p>\n

With cooperation dominated by the oil sector and with a tendency for growth in the energy field, the meeting between businessmen seeks to respond to the Angolan Government’s desire to diversify economic relations.<\/p>\n

After the intervention of the President of the Republic, in the I Panel, the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, should approach companies in the sector, in the II Panel, dedicated to the theme “Building a dynamic energy sector”.<\/p>\n

The event program reserves, later, business meetings from companies to companies (B2B), when other areas will seek to present partnership opportunities in the respective sectors.<\/p>\n

President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o’s visit to the capital Oslo, in the Kingdom of Norway, from yesterday until tomorrow, Friday, is fundamentally aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio advanced to the Angolan press on the spot that the Norwegian economy has a strong intervention of the State and also of the private ones, factors that Angola can absorb even more experiences.<\/p>\n

“This visit to Norway is a good opportunity to exchange experiences, as it is known that this country has an economy with a very vibrant private sector, but also with State intervention in very productive key sectors”, he said.<\/p>\n

Visits are planned to reference companies present in the Angolan economy, namely Equinor and Aker Solutions, after the Head of State is a speaker at today’s Business Forum dedicated to Angola.<\/p>\n

Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio said that the approach to energy transition is very important for Angola, which is why a panel dedicated to energy is lined up at the event.<\/p>\n

“Cooperation with Norway is fundamentally based on the oil sector. It is the predominant area and, in fact, the first panel of the business forum, when we will have ministers interacting with the business sector. of economic diversification, we will try to counterbalance the dominance of the Energy area by others, mainly Fisheries, where Norway is very strong. According to Ma\u0301rio Caetano Joa\u0303o, the focus is on Planagra\u0303o, a government initiative aimed at large-scale production of maize, soy, wheat and rice, with the strategy of making the country a reference in Africa and later in the world.<\/p>\n

For this, he argued, it is necessary to work with those who have knowledge and, above all, an interest in investing in the country.<\/p>\n

“We are going to transmit the tranquility and, mainly, the business environment existing in the country. To pass on the message that there is a change in paradigms, which already comes from the first mandate, whose focus is on the promotion of the rule of law, on the elimination of corruption, and another paradigm which is the preference for national production, as there are comparative advantages, especially in PRODESI goods and in the agri-food segment to guarantee food security, and these are the goods that we intend to see produced locally\u201d, he declared.<\/p>\n

For the Minister of Economy and Planning, today’s forum is part of the dynamics of internationalization of the economy, which the President of the Republic has been developing and which the ministers are trying to make happen.<\/p>\n

As assured by the MEP, at sectoral level there are already contacts of various ministries with local partners, which will be deepened in this business mission, whose main purpose is to sow the seed for cooperation further outside the energy sector. This option is justified by the fact that the Energy sector already has its own dynamics, even if it deepens current relations further, the aim is to make greater use of the existing potential in other areas, as is the case of Fisheries. The sector, recalls the minister, is going through a formalization process and has been more visible in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).<\/p>\n
