Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Attorney General’s Offices of the Republic of Angola and Cape Verde will celebrate between the 1st and 2nd of December, in Luanda, a cooperation agreement in various fields of action.<\/b><\/p>\n

The intention was expressed by the respective holders, He\u0301lder Pitta Groz and Lui\u0301s Landim, during the bilateral meeting between the two counterparts, which took place last Monday, in the city of Praia Cabo-Verde.<\/p>\n

According to a note from the Attorney General’s Office, sent to Jornal de Angola, in response to the intention, the Attorney General of the Republic, He\u0301lder Pitta Groz, expressed availability of the agreement to be signed in Luanda, on the occasion of the 19th meeting of General Attorneys of the CPLP Republic.<\/p>\n

In his speech, the Attorney General of the Republic of Cape Verde, Lui\u0301s Landim, referred to the purpose that, over time, the two institutions have developed various cooperation actions based on International Conventions of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP ) and Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), justifying, therefore, a bilateral cooperation agreement. At the moment, says the document, the technical teams of both countries are working towards the realization of this purpose.<\/p>\n

In the city of Praia, He\u0301lder Pitta Groz was received in an audience by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Cape Verde. At the meeting, Benfeito Mosso Ramos highlighted the ties of legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries, based on political, social and cultural affinities, resulting from the historical process based on the brotherhood of the two peoples.<\/p>\n

During the hearing attended by five judges, the president of the Cape Verdean Supreme Court, defended the strengthening of south-south cooperation, aimed at solving specific problems of the two countries. On Tuesday (the 15th), He\u0301lder Pitta Gro\u0301z was also received by the Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa Matos, who highlighted the work to combat corruption led by the PGR of Angola, which, in his view, has contributed to reinforce the prestige of the country in the international arena.<\/p>\n

The work agenda of the Attorney General of the Republic of Angola included a visit to the President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary. Bernardino Delgado.<\/p>\n

During the exhibition, relative differences with the current model in Angola were noted, especially the fact that the president of the Supreme Court is not the president of the Superior Council, as well as the structure of the career of judicial magistrates and the Public Ministry, with emphasis on that of magistrates of first instance whose categories include third, second and first class echelons, being similar with Angola regarding judges and counselors.<\/p>\n

Tarrafal<\/b><\/p>\n

Last Wednesday, the Attorney General of the Republic Pitta Groz, defended “in the land of Morna”, the preservation of the Tarrafal Concentration Camp museum in Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

The attorney general, who also visited Coladera, Funana\u0301 and Bazuca, accompanied by his Cape Verdean counterpart, Lui\u0301s Landim, toured the different compartments of the museum and received explanations about the Tarrafal Concentration Camp, now converted into a museum.<\/p>\n
