Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau, highlighted Saturday, in Caracas (Venezuela), the poetic, historical, cultural and political legacy of Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, the first President of the Republic of Angola, which transcends Angola’s borders.<\/b><\/p>\n

The official was speaking at the 18th International Book Fair (FILVEN), which ended yesterday in Caracas, under the motto: “Ler Decoloniza”. The event coincides with the celebration of the centenary of the birth of Agostinho Neto.<\/p>\n

According to Minister Filipe Zau, Agostinho Neto committed himself to building a free, prosperous and peaceful Africa, by participating in the struggle of the African countries of the “Front Line”.<\/p>\n

Filipe Zau noted that due to the universal nature of his poetry, Agostinho Neto “is a source of pride for all Angolans and beyond, since it places him in the honor roll of African liberation thinkers”.<\/p>\n

“His poetic legacy has been a source of inspiration for encouraging literary creativity among national authors, who have been reproducing the imaginary and cultural identity of Angolan communities through literary texts, thus giving rise to the emergence of a new discursive wave”, he expressed. .<\/p>\n

The event also had the participation of the writer Lopito Feijo\u0301o, who addressed the fact that Agostinho Neto is considered the greatest poet in Angola.<\/p>\n

The International Book Fair of Venezuela, which closed yesterday, had the participation of a hundred writers and authors who exchange experiences and share ideas through meetings, debates, conferences and book launches.<\/p>\n
