Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of Bengo plans to build a total of 115 primary schools, to facilitate the enrollment of more than 14,000 new students, in various locations in the region, announced, in Caxito, the director of the Provincial Education Office.<\/b><\/p>\n

Manuel Fernando explained that the construction program for the aforementioned primary schools will run until 2027.<\/p>\n

This school year, according to the director, of the 73,000 children who were outside the normal education system, it was possible to enroll a total of 59,000 students in various locations in the province.<\/p>\n

He underlined that the sector has the responsibility to conduct policies related to the execution of the education and teaching process, which has a set of working mechanisms that must be triggered, starting with the construction of more school infrastructures, a fundamental instrument to flesh out the education system.<\/p>\n

Manuel Fernando added that data from the province point to 78,000 children from zero to five years of age, projected for the current school year, but only 8,000 have passed from the pre-school subsystem (initiation) to primary education.<\/p>\n

To minimize the situation, he advanced that the teacher\/classroom ratio was planned and established, in a composition of 35 students.<\/p>\n

Manuel Fernando underlined that at the level of primary education, the scenario is different, as the difference between enrolled children, from six to 11 years old, is relatively more balanced, representing an average of more than 50 percent in schools.<\/p>\n

“The construction of more school infrastructure is necessary, as the growth data resulting from the 2014 census make the situation increasingly worrying”, underlined the provincial director of Education.<\/p>\n

On the 15th of this month, another induction course was opened, for teachers admitted to the second phase of the 2021 Public Tender, a total of 551 agents, who benefit from the training action.<\/p>\n

On the subject, Manuel Fernando explained that the training, which will last for 30 days, is a kind of initiation course to public service and reinforcement of the individual skills of each of the teachers, to correct the shortcomings found during their participation in the Public Tender for Access.<\/p>\n

In Bengo, the Provincial Education Office controls a total of 286 public schools, five with subsidized and 15 private. In addition, the sector has a total of 5,644 employees, including teachers and administrative staff.<\/p>\n

For the current academic year, statistics indicate that 122,773 students were enrolled in the three levels of general education (Primary Education, I and II Cycle of Secondary Education).<\/p>\n
