Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Heads of provincial offices, municipal administrators and managers of companies and public institutions participated, in Ondjiva, Cunene, in a seminar on ethics and the challenges of preventing and combating corruption in the Angolan context.<\/b><\/p>\n

The seminar promoted on Friday by the Audit and Discipline Department of the MPLA in Cunene aimed to provide participants and militants with knowledge on ethics as the basis of party discipline and good management of public assets in order to combat corruption and impunity.<\/p>\n

Identifying the main incentives for changing attitudes in public management, contributing to the public moralization campaign in society, reflecting on the socio-cultural elements that guarantee the effectiveness of the fight against corruption, nepotism, flattery and impunity were other objectives of the training .<\/p>\n

Participants debated matters related to the Party Code of Ethics as an instrument of political exercise, ethics and integrity in public and private management, the fight against corruption, economic crimes in the face of the social consequences of impunity, the contribution of actions in the fight against corruption and impunity and the challenges of public procurement management in Angola.<\/p>\n

At the opening of the event, the second provincial secretary of the MPLA, Gonc\u0327alves Namwia, hailed the initiative of the Commission for Discipline and Auditing of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA in holding this seminar, taking into account the social and economic moment that the country is experiencing and the need to imbue a dynamic in government action for the materialization of the 2022-2027 Program.<\/p>\n

“The change in attitude and behavior in relation to the management of public affairs is not only irreversible but necessary, as a very simple and clear reason, public resources must be used to create social and economic impacts on the beneficiaries’ way of life : the people”, he stressed. The leader also said that the MPLA will continue to improve and promote its political-party action, within the framework of governance with ethics, public probity, solidarity, human dignity and other values, which contribute to guaranteeing the well-being of the people angolan.<\/p>\n

The secretary for the Department of Audit and Discipline, Oliveira Pinho, said that the provincial seminar on ethics and the challenges of combating corruption in the Angolan context and the current context of the country are challenging from the perspective of moralizing society and combating corruption.<\/p>\n
