Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights will soon put into service the National System for Reporting Human Rights Violations, it was announced this Monday in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, after opening the V National Forum with Civil Society Organizations on Human Rights, the Secretary of State for Human Rights and Citizenship, Ana Celeste Janua\u0301rio clarified that this System is a mechanism to allow citizens to denounce any violation of your rights.<\/p>\n

Without advancing the exact date of implementation, he said that the elaboration of the model of the National System of Complaints is already in the conclusive phase, waiting only for some details that can guarantee the citizen a fast and effective service.<\/p>\n

In addition to presenting this, stressed Ana Celeste Janua\u0301rio, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights is also working on the creation of a System of Indicators to objectively assess the degree of implementation of Human Rights in Angola.<\/p>\n

According to the Secretary of State, the System of National Human Rights Indicators will be able to collect, evaluate and say whether the country is improving or regressing in relation to the right to identity, education, health, freedom of expression and demonstration, among others. .<\/p>\n

Due to the fact that there are many rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, said Ana Celeste Janua\u0301rio, their introduction in the System of National Human Rights Indicators will be done gradually and progressively.<\/p>\n

To allow the success of this project, the Secretary of State said that there are already Local Human Rights Committees installed in the 18 provinces and 163 municipalities. She added that the project will be installed in all locations in the national territory to allow citizens who have a problem to access the mechanism and subsequently assess the degree of implementation.<\/p>\n

According to Ana Celeste Janua\u0301rio, the System of National Human Rights Indicators will be monitored by representatives of different civil society organizations linked to Human Rights in Angola.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the need to strengthen dialogue with civil society, emphasizing that there is a significant increase in the number of organizations and associations in Angola, with a total of 920 registered in the Ministry’s database.<\/p>\n

“The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights is open to dialogue and will continue to implement actions aimed at improving, promoting and protecting the rights enshrined in the CRA”, stated the Secretary of State.<\/p>\n

Assault on journalist<\/b><\/p>\n

Regarding the aggression against journalist Jose\u0301 Hono\u0301rio, from the News Agency (Angop), in Benguela, last week, Ana Celeste Janua\u0301rio said that if it proves that the agent acted outside the legal protocol, he will be criminally responsible.<\/p>\n

During the course of their work, stressed the Secretary of State, police officers may commit acts of violations of Human Rights that must be immediately denounced, noting that when the citizen does not denounce violations of Human Rights, the feeling of impunity on the part of the National Police agents, on the one hand, and, on the other, “it is thought to be a policy of the Angolan State”.<\/p>\n

The Angolan State as a public person, continued Ana Celeste Janua\u0301rio, has a very clear policy and specific rules in the CRA, to promote the dignity of the human person and condemns any and all acts that tend to put at risk.<\/p>\n

“We have to work on prevention so that the violation of Human Rights no longer occurs in journalists, zungueira women, demonstrators or any citizen, regardless of their social, economic, cultural and political status”, he said.<\/p>\n

The representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Angola, Edo Stork, said that it is fundamental and urgent to reduce the levels of violations of Human Rights in the country, mainly of women as they are the “anchor” of the family.<\/p>\n

In addition, he stressed, it is important that women have access to sexual and reproductive health, as well as being economically empowered to allow the growth of Angola to be harmonious and safe.<\/p>\n

The 5th Forum analyzed themes such as “Perspectives of the National Development Plan in the Concretization of Human Development in Angola” and the “New Legal Regime of the Statute of Public Utility in Angola”, among others.<\/p>\n
