Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A platform dedicated to promoting opportunities for women in the oil sector called Muhatu Energy Angola (MEA), was launched this Wednesday in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

MEA is a network dedicated to promoting career opportunities and leadership development in an inclusive way, with women linked to the oil sector and carrying out their activities in Angola as its protagonists and target audience.<\/p>\n

Its objective is to boost, train and give visibility to professionals for their rise to levels of leadership for women in the oil sector, investing in their empowerment, having as main areas of action the promotion of equality and equity in the work environment, the promotion of events to share experiences, the development of a Women’s Center of Excellence, as well as engagement and communication for a culture of greater inclusion in the oil sector.<\/p>\n

“We have to have more women in the oil industry, with more training opportunities, with more commitment because our industry is very demanding”, said the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, at the launch of the platform.<\/p>\n

The governance of Muhatu Energy Angola is ensured by a Management Commission with rotation of mandates, which is composed of members of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), the Association of Companies of Exploration and Production of Angola (ACEPA), Association of Autochthonous Companies for the Oil Industry of Angola (ASSEA) and the (Association of Contracted Companies of the Oil Industry of Angola (AECIPA).<\/p>\n

The opening act was attended by the President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, among other members of the Executive.<\/p>\n
