Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The role of the Church in moralizing society, where it has acted as a partner of the Executive in various projects, was praised by the governor of Luanda, in a visit made, this Sunday, to the Tocoi\u0301sta Church.<\/b><\/p>\n

Manuel Homem, said this Sunday, that he is aware of the difficulties experienced by citizens in the social field, with emphasis on the areas of Health, Education and unemployment. After visiting the Tocoi\u0301sta missionary complex, in the municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi, where, at the invitation of the religious institution, he laid the first stone for the construction of a Medium Polytechnic Institute, Manuel Homem participated in the service and reminded the faithful of the concern of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, in resolving the difficult situation existing at certain levels of society.<\/p>\n

With the construction of the Instituto Tocoi\u0301sta, in an area of \u200b\u200bsix thousand square meters, with forecast for 48 rooms and housing more than four thousand students in three shifts, a benefit to the municipality that lacks classrooms, Manuel Homem believes that it is being reiterated the role of the church in solving social problems in Luanda.<\/p>\n

“This is an outstanding work. The church, in addition to the main action of evangelizing, has also sought to stand out in the social domain, as a partner of the Executive in the moralization of society, in the rescue of moral, civic and cultural values, through charitable actions and solidarity with the communities\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

The official took advantage of the occasion and asked members of the Church to continue to contribute to the materialization of actions and projects included in the program aimed at improving the province.<\/p>\n

“It is necessary to recognize the support of the Church, especially in the field of health, cleaning and basic sanitation, in helping with various goods to needy families in Luanda. \u201d, he stressed, in addition to recalling its contribution to the struggle for National Liberation, the consolidation of independence and national reconciliation.<\/p>\n

The bishop of the Tocoist Church, Dom Afonso Nunes, asked the governor of Luanda to pay particular attention to the rehabilitation of the road behind the temple, called Rua da Macon.<\/p>\n

In response, Manuel Homem stated that the request was already part of a project included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), awaiting only materialization. “It is a work that responds to the expectations of the community. Of the various concerns presented to the governor, the bishop highlighted the problem of the streets in the municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi, some of which are impassable, as well as the improvement of access to energy and water.
