Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of the Interior guided this Monday, in Malanje, the staff of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) so that, starting next year, more attention is paid to the fight against crimes such as corruption, money laundering, vandalism and theft of public property, trafficking in drugs and mineral resources.<\/b><\/p>\n

Euge\u0301nio Laborinho, who was speaking at the central event celebrating the 47th anniversary of the SIC, which took place yesterday, reiterated the reinforcement of actions to combat fuel smuggling, piracy, domestic and sexual violence, as well as cyber and environmental crimes, with a view to complying with of the Executive program until 2027.<\/p>\n

He recognized that SIC, despite the immense difficulties, had made significant gains in recent times, especially with regard to strengthening staff, improving infrastructure, creating technological equipment, as well as the quality of services provided to society.<\/p>\n

Even so, Laborinho defended the optimization of the internal functioning of the bodies that make up the SIC, in order to guarantee harmony and the production of information necessary for decision-making, aiming at improving the quality of the service provided to satisfy the expectations created by society .<\/p>\n

He also referred to the importance of improving the instruction of criminal processes, aiming to guarantee the pursuit of material reality and the realization of justice.<\/p>\n

The minister also said it was necessary for the SIC to strengthen cooperation with the National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, courts and other defense and security bodies, in order to materialize the principles of intelligence, audacity and loyalty.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, he stressed, the Executive will focus on reinforcing new staff for the SIC, as well as on the continuous training of staff, aiming to rejuvenate the body and provide a greater response to crime.<\/p>\n

“The Executive has been boosting the Criminal Investigation Service with modern infrastructure, means of criminal investigation and legal medicine of criminalistics”, recalled Laborinho, adding that other bets have fallen to the continuous appreciation of merit and technical capacity. of the SIC’s staff, with the creation of social and working conditions, without neglecting promotion, especially those who have not been patented for several years.<\/p>\n

The Interior Minister said, for example, that in Malanje province, senior officers, subordinates, deputy chiefs and agents benefited from appointments, at the same time that there was a career conversion from the National Police to the SIC.<\/p>\n

Euge\u0301nio Laborinho guaranteed that this process will continue in all provinces, as “no one can be harmed by the fact of being outside Luanda or not having a friend or family member in human resources and decision-making bodies”.<\/p>\n

He also recognized that, currently, SIC staff are more qualified, which has contributed to efficiency and effectiveness in obtaining results throughout its activity. As a consequence of this, he added, the level of clarification of cases that occur in the country, including those of greater complexity, is notorious. This, he underlined, contributed to the reduction of crimes committed with violence and with recourse to armed hand.<\/p>\n

For his part, the general director of SIC, chief commissioner Anto\u0301nio Bendge, said that, over 47 years, the corporation has never spared efforts to keep the flame burning to investigate to clarify crimes and keep the rights of citizens inviolable.<\/p>\n

“After 47 years, the SIC is configured as an adult, experienced entity and, therefore, more responsibilities are required of it, which involves knowing how to be, be and do, from the limits that the law establishes”, he said.<\/p>\n

Chief Commissioner Anto\u0301nio Bengue highlighted several ongoing challenges at the level of the body that are embodied by participatory management, modernization of services, including issues related to humanization, from pickets, sequence of procedural steps and compliance with superior guidelines.<\/p>\n

The official stressed that in order to better serve society, the SIC requires “more work, speed, firmness, efficiency and impartiality at work”.<\/p>\n
