Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The 10th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the OEACP began yesterday, in Luanda, with works and exhibitions by the host country, with emphasis, according to the program, on the event between peers organized by the World Bank, in one of the hotels in the capital angolan.<\/b><\/p>\n

While the first day is reserved for works and exhibitions, parallel events are planned, under the theme “promoting the competitiveness of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) from OEACP countries in the world market”, in addition to a Youth Forum, based on on the \u201ceconomic and social impact of road accidents \u2013 the role of youth\u201d.<\/p>\n

Still tomorrow, the Diaspora Forum is scheduled, under the motto “policies and practices of collaboration with the diaspora”, while on Thursday, reserved for pre-summit events, the program includes a preparatory meeting of the Council of Ministers of OEACP (Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States).<\/p>\n

On the same day (Thursday), there will be a meeting of the heads of the Coordinating Committee of Interregional Organizations of the OEACP (IROCC) and will close with the institution’s high-level dialogue on the private sector.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the program foresees the inaugural ceremony, with a family photograph (heads of delegation), in addition to speeches and cultural performances, handover of the Presidency, reserving the dialogue with strategic partners for the afternoon, in which the ” challenges of climate change\u201d, \u201ceconomic diversification\u201d and \u201cchallenges in terms of peace and security\u201d.<\/p>\n

On the same Friday, there will be the First Ladies Forum, when \u201cEducation of girls and women as an empowerment factor\u201d and \u201cBlue Economy: a path to sustainability and community resilience\u201d will be debated.<\/p>\n

Before the end of the day, there will be, among other matters, the central general debate on the theme “3 continents, 3 oceans, 1 common destiny: building a resilient and sustainable OEACP”, in a program that includes the “interactive dialogue on the sub- themes “building a knowledge-based economy leveraging science and technology, research and innovation”, “optimizing leadership and action to address global challenges” and “fostering MSME investment and competitiveness and trade in OASCP countries\u201d.<\/p>\n

This Summit will end on Saturday, when the results of the First Ladies Forum will be known, the state of play on the implementation of the revised Georgetown Agreement, analysis and adoption of the draft declaration, as well as the participants will define the date and place of the 11th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the OEACP.<\/p>\n

Minister discusses preparations with the French ambassador<\/p>\n

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, discussed yesterday with the French ambassador in Angola, Daniel Vosgien, the preparation of the 10th Summit of the OEACP, to take place from thuesday until Saturday, in Luanda, with the two entities taking advantage of the moment to analyze the high-level exchanges of visits between the two countries, as well as administrative and consular issues of concern to both parties.<\/p>\n

Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio took the opportunity to review issues related to the Luanda Mini-Summit on Peace and Security in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, at a meeting in which the state of bilateral cooperation between Angola and France was also analysed. .<\/p>\n

In this regard, the French ambassador praised the way in which Angola has been leading the mediation process between the Republic of Rwanda and the DRC.<\/p>\n
