Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, recommended, Tuesday, after the new evaluation visit to the recovery work on the lawn at the 11 de Novembro Stadium, in Luanda, that infrastructure managers should delay, for a little while longer, reopening for Girabola games.<\/b><\/p>\n

Three weeks after noticing, for the first time, the state of degradation of the lawn and the other compartments of the gigantic sports infrastructure built in 2009, the official returned to the stadium to confirm the works carried out.<\/p>\n

During the tour guided by Lui\u0301s Cazengo, stadium director, Minister Palmira Barbosa and the delegation that accompanied her, made contact with the current state of the pitch, insisted on stepping on the green carpet, before reassessing the new branch (pipe transporting water) implanted in the area of \u200b\u200bthe previous conduit.<\/p>\n

The minister said she believed that the next few weeks would be decisive in relation to the level of quality expected for the state of the grass, but advised consideration in the decision to reopen the gates of the 11th of November event, before being sure of the sturdiness of the lawn .<\/p>\n

“The priority objective left in the last meeting has already been achieved, which was the situation of the branch that fed the stadium. We found that the grass is being recovered and now we just have to ask the FAF, to give us some information, if we can already reopen the stadium, because in my opinion we should give it some more time, so that it, in fact, has its robustness, so that the games can be held”, defended, Palmira Barbosa.<\/p>\n

For the stadium director, Lui\u0301s Cazengo, the issue of lawn irrigation has been resolved, with the placement of the new water transport pipe.<\/p>\n

“The old branch will be improved, the new one is already functional and we are going to use the four rainwater tanks, to place a pump, which will allow the use of the tanks to water the grass”, he clarified, to guarantee that, from now on, the stadium will have three water inlets.<\/p>\n
