Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, this Monday in Washington invited North American businessmen to continue investing in Angola, outside the oil and energy sectors.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at a round table with businessmen from that country, at the US\/Angola Chamber of Commerce, the Head of State said he was interested in attracting investment in other potential areas.<\/p>\n

According to Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, Angola’s doors are open to US investment in the fields of agriculture and tourism, where he says there is great potential to explore.<\/p>\n

Likewise, he said that there is interest in new investments in the area of \u200b\u200bminerals, without necessarily being in traditional diamonds.<\/p>\n

For the Angolan statesman, it is important that US businessmen seek to explore rare minerals in Angola, such as nickel and others needed to produce accumulators for vehicles and others.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o also showed interest in American private investment in the area of \u200b\u200bconservation.<\/p>\n

In this respect, he recalled that Angola signed a year ago, in the USA, a contract with African Parks, for the management of the Iona National Park.<\/p>\n

According to the President, the agreement was stalled because of the emergence of Covid-19, but there are already conditions to resume.<\/p>\n

In the opinion of the Head of State, this project will allow the park to be well managed and attract tourism to that region of the country.<\/p>\n

He said it was a subject that he discussed with the USAID administrator, Samanta Power.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o explained that he approached the person in charge with the possibility of replicating the project in the Lundo Luiana Park, in the Mavinga region, in southwest Angola, Cuando Cubango province.<\/p>\n

He assured that whoever invests in this park will be investing and attracting investment to Angola and about four other countries around the country.<\/p>\n

These are Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia, which are part of the territory of the Okavango Zambenze (KAZA) regional project.<\/p>\n

In another domain, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o announced that Angola is negotiating, with the company Acrobridge, the signing of a contract for the acquisition of around three hundred metal bridges, to serve the civil and military sectors.<\/p>\n

He clarified that the bridges will be shared between the Ministry of Construction and Territorial Planning and the Angan Armed Forces (FAA).<\/p>\n
