Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola ranked second in the Region V Games, which ended Sunday in Lilongwe (Malawi), with 45 medals, including 18 gold, 14 silver and 13 bronze.<\/b><\/p>\n

This record is the result of the commitment of the conventional athletics, adapted athletics, basketball (male and female), 3×3 basketball (male and female) and gymnastics teams.<\/p>\n

There are also judo, taekwondo and tennis, which led Angola to improve by one place in the final ranking, compared to the third place obtained in Maseru (Lesotho), in 2021.<\/p>\n

Angola achieved an average of 3.75 percent for each of the 12 disciplines present at the event, won by South Africa, with 114 medals, of which 62 gold, 30 silver and 22 bronze.<\/p>\n

Among the disciplines, the selection of Judo was the most productive, with 18 medals, nine gold, five silver and four bronze, followed by basketball, with 4 gold, Taekwondo, with three gold and two silver.<\/p>\n

Adapted athletics was the fourth best ranked, with two gold, equal number of silver and one bronze, making five, swimming comes in fifth, with three silver and four bronze.<\/p>\n

Gymnastics secured sixth place in the national ranking, with two silver medals and the same bronze record, totaling four. Conventional athletics is seventh on the list, getting two bronze.<\/p>\n

The removal from football, for alleged falsification of the age of one of the 15 summoned was the negative note, despite the fact that the medical staff of the mission is appealing to the organization and other international institutions to restore the truth of the facts.<\/p>\n

1st South Africa: 62 (gold) – 30 (silver) – 22 (bronze)<\/p>\n

2nd Angola: 18 (gold) \u2013 14 (silver) – 13 (bronze)<\/p>\n

3rd Zambia: 17 (gold) \u2013 25 (silver) \u2013 20 (bronze)<\/p>\n

4th Zimbabwe: 12 (gold) \u2013 24 (silver) \u2013 (48 bronze)<\/p>\n

5th Botswana: 12 (gold) \u2013 22 (silver) \u2013 13 (bronze)<\/p>\n

6th Malawi: 8 (gold) \u2013 7 (silver) \u2013 26 (bronze)<\/p>\n

7th Lesotho: 8 (gold) \u2013 7 (silver) \u2013 1 (bronze)<\/p>\n

8th Namibia: 7 (gold) \u2013 12 (silver) 20 (bronze)<\/p>\n

9th Eswatini: 5 (gold)<\/p>\n

10th Mozambique: 4 (gold) \u2013 2 (silver) – 11 bronze<\/p>\n
