Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Inspectors from the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA) must respond to the current challenges that society demands and act safely in the inspection and supervision of economic activities and guarantee food safety for consumers.<\/b><\/p>\n

This appeal was launched yesterday by the general director of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Anto\u0301nio Paulo Bendje, at the closing act of the training on investigation and protection of evidence, organized by ANIESA with experts from SIC and the Attorney General’s Office.<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Paulo Bendje also exhorted inspectors to ensure the guarantee of food safety for consumers, as well as to use their knowledge to help criminal investigation bodies, in the context of preventing and combating economic crime and beyond.<\/p>\n

The event, said the main manager of the SIC, was aimed at inspectors from all over the country, with the aim of improving their technical and professional qualifications, regarding the types of infractions, the competence to open cases, as well as the means of obtaining evidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe work that ANIESA carries out must be viewed with responsibility in the field of food and nutritional security, as health largely depends on food, which is why a trader who places food unfit for consumption on the market is compared with a murderer\u201d, warned.<\/p>\n

For this reason, the director-general stressed, ensuring the food safety of citizens always requires new challenges for inspectors, in order to deal with situations that threaten the life and economic protection of consumers.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he said that the country is experiencing a moment of great commitment in the fight against corruption and the crimes related to it and that its fight must continue to be done with great intelligence, audacity, insight and loyalty, in order to do justice through accountability. criminal behavior of their mentors.<\/p>\n

He also advanced another type of crime that must be fought with greater vigor – drug trafficking, as it constitutes a national security problem that affects public health, internal order and public security, promoting organized, violent and money laundering.<\/p>\n

At the opening, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor Fernandes, asked for greater vigilance and rigor to the signs of violations of economic norms that jeopardize the interests of the State and consumer rights.<\/p>\n
