Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A commission to monitor victims of domestic violence was created by the Ombudsman’s Office, as part of the priority protection of children’s rights.<\/b><\/p>\n

The announcement was made this Wednesday, in Luanda, by the ombudsman, Florbela Arau\u0301jo, at the opening of a lecture that marked the 74th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, celebrated on 10 December.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the ombudsman stated that the Commission has been working with public institutions and with the courts, in particular.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the Commission has obtained positive results, both in cooperation with public entities and in suppressing the injustices claimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe issue of the rights of vulnerable citizens is the object of our reflection on this commemorative day of another International Human Rights Day\u201d, he expressed.<\/p>\n

Present at the act, the governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, considered respect for human rights under the terms of the Constitution and the law to be fundamental.<\/p>\n

For the governor, the meeting allows for a better understanding of rights, freedoms, as well as their importance to society.<\/p>\n

This year, the celebrations of the 74th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights take place under the motto \u201cDignity, Freedom and Justice for All\u201d.<\/p>\n
