Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The strengthening of economic cooperation between the republics of Angola and Co\u0302te d’Ivoire was at the center of a conversation between the vice-president of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, and the ambassador of that country, Santiero Jean-Marie Soment.<\/b><\/p>\n

This information was made public to the press by the head of the Ivorian diplomatic mission in Angola, Santiero Jean-Marie Soment, at the end of an audience granted to him in Cidade Alta.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Santiero Soment considered it essential that the two countries raise economic relations to the level of excellent political and friendship relations.<\/p>\n

In this sense, he expressed interest in gathering the Angolan experience in the field of oil exploration and sharing the knowledge he has in the production of cocoa, chestnuts and rubber.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that Co\u0302te d’Ivoire is the world’s largest producer of cocoa, with 1.8 million tons a year, representing 45 percent.<\/p>\n

He added that his country is also highly rated in the world production of cashew nuts and that it is the biggest African producer of rubber.<\/p>\n

The diplomat, accredited a year ago, defended greater exchange between universities in African countries for the promotion of scientific research in favor of their development and for the reinforcement of cooperation between them.<\/p>\n

Co\u0302te d’Ivoire is an African country bordered to the north by Mali, to the east by Burkina Faso and Ghana, to the south by the Atlantic Ocean and to the west by Liberia and Guinea.<\/p>\n
