Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Teachers and general education students flocked Monday to schools in the city of Mbanza Kongo, province of Zaire, two weeks after the end of the second phase of the strike decreed by the National Union of Teachers (SINPROF).<\/b><\/p>\n

The director of the “Daniel Vemba” Teacher Training School, Mbalu Lukaya, confirmed to press’s report the mass presence of the teaching staff and students, on this first day of classes.<\/p>\n

In turn, the director of the Polytechnic Institute of Tuku, Pedro Guilherme Raio, also informed that the teachers from his school were present, both in the morning and in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started the tests of the 1st quarter, without any embarrassment\u201d, he underlined.<\/p>\n

The sub-director of primary school no43 in the Nkunga a Paza neighbourhood, Mendes Mbiyavanga, also said that the presence of teachers and students was notorious, on this first day of return to school.<\/p>\n

The provincial secretary of SINPROF in Zaire, Mambuene Ernesto, asked members to comply with the Ministry of Education’s guidance on returning to school and await the decision to be taken during the provincial assemblies that will take place next Saturday, December 24th.<\/p>\n

He said that the conclave will determine whether or not the strike will continue, in its third phase, which in principle is scheduled for January 3 to 31, 2023, in case of an impasse with the employer.<\/p>\n
