Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The acting secretary of the Democratic Bloc in Huambo province, Laurindo David, said Thursday that the party organization plans, in the near future, to build headquarters in all municipalities in this region, for greater strengthening.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the sidelines of the end of the political year, Laurindo David informed that, so far, the party has only three provisional headquarters (leased) in the municipalities of Bailundo, Huambo and Ucuma.<\/p>\n

Therefore, he said that the Democratic Block also intends to build the headquarters of the provincial secretariat, as, currently, there is no space that justifies the dimension of the political-party organization.<\/p>\n

“Eight months ago, we had rented a residence in the Sa\u0303o Joa\u0303o neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo, which housed the provincial headquarters of the party, but with the end of the contract, we thought it better not to renew, because it did not justify the size of the party”, he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the organization is currently looking for a new space, which will be the provincial headquarters of the Democratic Block.<\/p>\n

In order to fulfill this aim, he said that land has already been identified in all the municipalities where the headquarters will be built, with the aim of contributing to the restructuring, organization and affirmation of the Democratic Bloc in the localities.<\/p>\n

Laurindo David said that the party works on the mobilization and political transformation of youth, so that they know their rights and duties in society, given the need for greater civic participation.<\/p>\n

He referred that, in its political action, the Democratic Block stands out as a party that defends the interest of Angolans, for the collective well-being.<\/p>\n

He informed that, in the province of Huambo, the party has 1,987 militants, the majority residing in the municipalities of Bailundo, Caa\u0301la, Cachiungo, Huambo and Ucuma.<\/p>\n

The Democratic Block was founded in July 2010 and did not run in the general elections on 24 August last.<\/p>\n
