Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The centrality of Zango 8000, in the municipality of Icolo e Bengo, in Luanda, has since Thursday, a digital library.<\/b><\/p>\n

The structure, located at school 6082, in the Zango 5 district, has 15 computers connected to the internet and a diverse bibliography so that students can enrich their school work for free.<\/p>\n

The inauguration of the library is part of the Angola Digital project, carried out by Angola Telecom, to increase info-inclusion in the education system in the country, via information and communication technologies.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Ma\u0301rio de Oliveira, said that the initiative constitutes a challenge that will be implemented annually in schools and other public places to increase the digital literacy of the population.<\/p>\n

“The inauguration, in a primary school, aims to prepare children for the rational use of the internet, alerting them to the dangers of careless use of this tool”, he stressed.<\/p>\n

The minister was satisfied with the fact that the school accommodates children with special needs, stressing that this helps in their inclusion in society.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Chairman of Angola Telecom, Adilson Santos, said that the school is the first of many others that will be implemented in various areas of the country.<\/p>\n

He referred that the company’s plans also include the installation of telemedicine in communities.<\/p>\n
