According to the province’s proposal, compared to the current financial year, an increase of nine billion, 892 million, 687 thousand and 834 kwanzas is estimated, as an expenditure of around 120 billion, 836 million , 076 thousand and 225.

Meanwhile, the document indicates that the provincial government had, in the current economic year, a limit in terms of budgetary expenditure, in the order of 114 billion, 770 million, 853 thousand and 810 kwanzas.

Of these, it reads, ten billion, 404 million, 476 thousand and 547 were invested in the Public Investment Programme, with the construction and completion of various social infrastructures, registering an increase of 43.9 percent, comparatively to the fiscal year 2021.

With regard to total budget expenditures for 2023, it details that 112,407,274,044 are current and 18,321,490,015 capital, of which 10,819,082,547 will be allocated to the Public Investment Program, through the implementation of the Integrated Intervention Plan in the Municipalities (PIIM).

In this chapter, according to the document, the execution of several projects is foreseen, with emphasis on the completion of various social infrastructures, the construction of new ones, the asphalting, recycling and earthworks of access roads, as well as the construction of bridges and bridges.

In terms of revenue, the provincial government of Huambo expects to collect, locally, in 2023, a total of ten billion, 101 million, 025 thousand and 453, of which 9,425,434,038, through the industrial sector, 568,962,788 from the provision of services and 106,628,627 from various sources.

In the budget proposal, the Government informs that these values will be used to support part of the expenses foreseen in the document, while the others will be executed with resources that will be made available by Organs central bodies. With a territorial extension of 35,771 square kilometers and a population density of over two million, 600,000 inhabitants, the province of Huambo is administratively composed of 11 municipalities, 37 communes and 3,387 villages.

SME increases passport issuance

A thousand 637 ordinary and service passports were issued this year by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) in Huambo province, against 743 compared to 2021. Migration chief Marlene Matokissa told ANGOP that of the passports issued, 1,629 are ordinary and eight are service passports.

He explained that the increase resulted, essentially, from the reduction in cases of the Covid-19 pandemic, as citizens are no longer limited in issuing the document, in addition to the Simplifica 1.0 project, which ended the bureaucracy in the State’s administrative actions.

Migration officer Marlene Matokissa pointed out medical treatment, academic training, business and tourism issues, as the main reasons for issuing a passport by citizens between zero and 75 years of age.

With regard to migration acts for foreigners, he informed that 804 had been carried out, namely 285 tourist visas, 171 temporary stay visas, 159 work visas, two short-term visas, and issued 102 residence cards and 85 provisional declarations for refugees.

He made it known that, of the documents already issued by the SME in Huambo province, 1,389 passports have yet to be picked up at the institution’s counter, with greater emphasis on the ordinary ones.

According to the person in charge, in accordance with the Simplifica 1.0 project, for the issuance of the ordinary passport, citizens must be accompanied by a colored copy of the Identity Card, certificate of residence or copy of the citizen card, 4 photographs and 30 thousand and 500 Kwanzas of emoluments.

He revealed that the province of Huambo does not have the registration of illegal foreign citizens, due to its geographical position, but only expatriates in an irregular migratory situation, who enter legally and, for unknown reasons, settle down, ending up extrapolating the deadlines pre-established by law.

In case of infractions, he said, in addition to being obliged to pay a fine corresponding to the days of illegal stay, they are also invited to leave the country.

The official informed that the SME in Huambo province currently controls 1,397 foreign citizens of different nationalities, of which 1,122 are men and 275 are women.

Founded in April 1976, the SME is the body of the Ministry of the Interior dedicated to the execution of policies and legislative and regulatory measures related to the entry, transit, exit, control of the stay and activities of foreign citizens in Angola.

For More News And Analysis About Angola Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Angola.
