Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Ju\u0301nior, said Thursday in Luanda that the Angolan economy has growth projections for 2023 of around 3.3 percent.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister, who was speaking to the press shortly after the end-of-year greetings ceremony to the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, recalled that this year (2022), the forecast for growth of the national economy is 2.7 percent.<\/p>\n

“This growth is mainly driven by the non-oil sector and the private sector”, he explained.<\/p>\n

Manuel Nunes Ju\u0301nior recognized the fact that the world economy is going through difficult times, with very high interest rates, which affects all countries in the world and, concomitantly, the Angolan economy.<\/p>\n

He said that Angola went through difficult times, which led the Executive to make important macroeconomic adjustments.<\/p>\n

This Thursday, at the Presidential Palace, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o received year-end greetings from members of sovereign bodies, defense and security bodies, religious entities and political parties with seats in parliament and civil society.<\/p>\n

Also speaking to the press, the chairman of the Social Renewal Party (PRS), Benedito Daniel, called on Angolans to take on the economic, social and political challenges ahead (by 2023).<\/p>\n

“We hope that these challenges will be materialized, in order to correspond to the aspirations and desires of the Angolans”, underlined the politician.<\/p>\n

The bishop of the United Methodist Church of Angola, Gaspar Domingos, said that for the new year the tendency will be to resolve everything that was not done in 2022, due to various situations such as Covid-19.<\/p>\n
