Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Seventy-three (73) inmates, military and police, who were serving sentences ranging from three months to two years, were set free, Thursday, under the amnesty law.<\/b><\/p>\n

These are inmates serving sentences at the Preventive Penitentiary, in the municipality of Cacongo, in Cabinda.<\/p>\n

Among the released prisoners are captains, sergeants and sub-chiefs of different units of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).<\/p>\n

The list of prisoners released also includes sub-chiefs and soldiers of the National Police. Of the crimes committed by them are desertion, indecent conduct, loss and deterioration of military goods.<\/p>\n

The act of delivering the releases, which took place at that prison institution, in Vila de La\u0302ndana\/Cacongo, was attended by the Deputy Governor of Cabinda for the Economic Sector, Maca\u0301rio Lembe.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the person in charge reminded the ex-prisoners that military laws must be rigorously complied with.<\/p>\n

He referred that the military must be exemplary, above all, in complying with superior guidelines and in obedience to the laws and the military hierarchy.<\/p>\n

The Amnesty Amnesty Law stipulates that prisoners now released<\/p>\n

must, within ten days, report to their respective units.<\/p>\n

According to the Diploma, if they exceed this period, they may incur the crime of desertion with a penalty of more than two years in prison.<\/p>\n
