Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The agreements between the republics of Angola and Brazil amount to around 80 diplomas, since the signing of the first memorandum in 1977, two years after the proclamation of the independence of the Angolans, in 1975. <\/b><\/p>\n

The first is linked to the air transport agreement, signed on May 13, 1977, a document that has since been superseded.<\/p>\n

Brazil was the first country in the world to recognize Angola’s independence, proclaimed by President Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, on 11 November.<\/p>\n

Since then, relations have been deepened in the most varied domains, culminating in the signing of 80 cooperation agreements, according to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola, this Friday, in Brasi\u0301lia (Brazil).<\/p>\n

Of the total number of agreements, 46 are still in force, 16 have expired, five are being ratified, three are in the process of being superseded and others are pending.<\/p>\n

These are agreements in the areas of air transport, investment in agriculture and energy, visas and immigration, animal and plant health, loans, education, health, technical cooperation and diplomatic consultations.<\/p>\n

The list also contains cooperation agreements in the areas of science and technology, artistic\/cultural, fisheries, oil (technical cooperation), environment, administrative policy, means of communication, trade, among others.<\/p>\n

New deals on sight<\/p>\n

The Angolan Foreign Minister, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, said this Friday, in Brasi\u0301lia, that the Angolan Government had already identified new cooperation agreements with Brazil.<\/p>\n

Without going into details, he highlighted the memorandum of understanding, yet to be signed, linked to the area of \u200b\u200bfinancing for the agriculture and industry sectors, within the framework of the diversification of the Angolan economy.<\/p>\n

“There is a change on our side that should also be reflected in the cooperation with our strategic partners, as is the case of Brazil”, he defended, looking at the position that this country occupies in terms of economic growth in the world.<\/p>\n

In terms of the American continent, Brazil is the third economy, after the United States of America and Canada, and the ninth economy in the world.<\/p>\n
