Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The authorities of the republics of Angola and Guinea-Bissau exchanged, this Saturday, views on mechanisms for strengthening cooperation, especially at the level of the CPLP.<\/b><\/p>\n

These approaches were made during a meeting that the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, held with his Guinea-Bissau counterpart, Umaro Sissoko Embalo\u0301, in the Brazilian capital where they are meeting for the investiture of President Lula da Silva.<\/p>\n

At the end of the audience with President Umaro Embalo\u0301, the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Guinea-Bissau, Suzi Barbosa, referred that the meeting served to “catch up” bilateral impressions between the two countries, since Angola chairs the CPLP.<\/p>\n

With the arrival of President Lula da Silva in power, it is expected to intensify and reinforce cooperation relations with the African countries of the referred Community, according to guarantees given to Suzi Barbosa, by her Brazilian counterpart, Ma\u0301rio Vieira, with whom she also maintained meeting this Saturday.<\/p>\n

Guinea-Bissau, in the presidency of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), plans to hold a meeting with the CPLP countries, to reinforce economic cooperation between the member countries.<\/p>\n

“Taking into account the imminence of a possible situation of food shortage in the world, I think it is important that we unite our efforts, the ECOWAS and CPLP countries can make this approach”, defended Suzi Barbosa, announcing that the meeting could take place at the beginning of 2023, in Bissau.<\/p>\n

In another audience, the Angolan statesman reviewed the situation of cooperation with Algeria, during an audience granted to the president of the Parliament of this African country, Ibrahim Boughali.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of the event, Ibrahim Boughali referred that cooperation at an economic and political level “leaves a little to be desired”, a point of view also expressed by President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

“We discussed with the President new ways to be able to take this cooperation to another level”, advanced the Head of the House of Laws of Algeria, who says he left the audience satisfied.<\/p>\n

As part of the need to strengthen cooperation, Ibrahim Boughali announced that a meeting would be held in the first half of 2023, during which time the President of the Republic of Angola may pay an official visit to the Republic of Algeria.<\/p>\n

“We have the mission of working in a diplomatic sense so that we can set a date on which the President of the Republic can carry out this visit”, announced Ibrahim Boughali, for whom relations between the two countries should now take on a different rhythm than they had until now.<\/p>\n

“We had a frank and open conversation and this is the second time that I am received by the President of the Republic of Angola”, he referred.<\/p>\n

On the same day, President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o also received the first Deputy Prime Minister of the Economy of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko, in an audience.<\/p>\n

Yuliia Svyrydenko told the press at the end of the audience that with the President of Angola she discussed cooperation between the two countries, in addition to reporting on the situation of the war in her country, which is causing suffering to the Ukrainian people, as well as an impact on economy.<\/p>\n
