Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The new President of Brazil, Lui\u0301s Ina\u0301cio Lula da Silva, wept when talking about social inequalities when addressing the nation.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lula da Silva, who was speaking at the Planalto Palace, stressed that the hallmark of his new government will be the fight against all forms of inequality in the country.<\/p>\n

In addition to combating social inequality, Lula highlighted that the Government will also combat racism, gender inequality and that it will act for the protection of indigenous peoples, through the ministries of Racial Inequality, Women and Native Peoples.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom this fundamental struggle, a transformed country will emerge, a country of all, by all and for all, a generous and solidary country, which will not leave anyone behind\u201d, he guaranteed.<\/p>\n

During his speech, he once again thanked all those who participated in the vigil in Curitiba (PR), when he was imprisoned for 580 days as a result of Operation Lava Jato investigations.<\/p>\n

Lula also reiterated in his address to the Nation that there are not two Brazils, and that he will govern for the 215 million Brazilian men and women.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will govern for everyone, looking towards our bright common future, and not through the rear view mirror of a past\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

Following the absence of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and Vice President Hamilton Moura\u0303o, at the investiture ceremony, the new President received the presidential sash of the Brazilian people.<\/p>\n

The presidential sash was handed over to the President by a group of people representing the Brazilian people and their cultural diversity.<\/p>\n

The group was made up of children, young people and adults, including a 90-year-old indigenous man.<\/p>\n

Lula’s inauguration ceremony ends with a reception ceremony, at the Itamaraty Palace, for heads of state, government and guests.<\/p>\n
