Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Eighty-five thousand liters of diesel, which were destined for the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), were seized for smuggling by the police authorities, in the commune of Dinge, municipality of Cacongo, about 66 km north of Cabinda.<\/b><\/p>\n

The product was found camouflaged at an HL.Costa Organizations illuminating oil resale station, located in the village of Vosso Fuila, Dinge Commune, packaged in 1\/25 liter plastic tanks and drums inside a backyard, this being another of the ways in which crude derivatives smugglers operate.<\/p>\n

A note from the Office of Institutional Communication and Press of the Delegation of the Ministry of the Interior in Cabinda, indicates that the facts occurred last Saturday, through complaints from the people, culminating in the seizure of the product and the its protagonists.<\/p>\n

The Police document, which quotes the spokesman for the Criminal Investigation Services (SIC) in Cabinda, Rodrigues Ambro\u0301sio, clarifies that the HL.Costa Organizations, with a single and exclusive marketing license for illuminating oil for the communities of Dinge and Beira-Nova, do not have the right to sell diesel or gasoline.<\/p>\n

He also stresses that the owner of the company has taken advantage of the lighting oil resale license to smuggle diesel and gasoline to the DRC, across the river border of Beira-Nova.<\/p>\n

The seized quantities were forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for compliance with legal procedures.<\/p>\n

Illegal fuel trafficking in Cabinda has increased significantly due to constant variations in the “modus operandi” of its protagonists, deceiving the authorities to combat this economic crime, taking advantage of the vast land and river border that the province has with the neighboring republics of Congo DRC’s Brazzaville.<\/p>\n
