Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>More than 400 former combatants belonging to an association in the town of Lucocua, Moxico municipality, this Wednesday benefited from vegetable seeds and fertilizers, to encourage agricultural activity.<\/b><\/p>\n

The agricultural inputs were handed over by the governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, on the occasion of the 4th of January, the Day of the Martyrs of Baixa de Cassanje, which is celebrated yesterday (4).<\/p>\n

Speaking at the provincial act, the governor said that the seeds will improve production, income and the diet of families, through the increase in cultivation areas.<\/p>\n

The director of the provincial office of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland in Moxico, Alberto Calumbi Keshipoco, considered that the funds received will contribute to achieving the desired levels of vegetable production.<\/p>\n

The Lucocua Association has 1,000 hectares of which 950 are producing cassava, maize, beans, peanuts, sweet potatoes, soybeans, okra, tomatoes, among other crops.<\/p>\n

From 2016, when it was founded, to date, more than six thousand tons of different products have been harvested.<\/p>\n
