Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The administrative authorities of the municipality of Belas, in Luanda, will focus this year on mechanisms that promote an increase in the collection of tax revenues from the tourism sector in the municipality, announced the administrator, Miguel de Almeida.<\/b><\/p>\n

The manager explained that for this purpose they will be involved in the concession of land for private investment in the field of tourism , tourist exploitation of the Lueji River, the Slavery Museum and the Miradouro da Lua.<\/p>\n

Regarding the concession of land for private investment, he said that two hotels are already under construction, adjacent to the tourist centers of the Museu da Escravatura and Miradouro da Lua.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe administration creates the incentive, assigns the space and the private sector just complies with the procedures and makes the investment\u201d, explained the official, stressing that the two locations have water and electricity.<\/p>\n

He also referred that the two tourist centers are located along the EN-100\/South road, in the districts of Morro dos Veados and Barra do Cuanza, 20 and 60 km from the center of Luanda.<\/p>\n

The projects, according to Miguel de Almeida, are part of the Master Plan of the municipality of Belas, and the implementation of these two hotel infrastructures aim to encourage the collection of revenues earmarked in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n

As for the Lueji river, a tributary of the Cuanza river, located in the commune with the same name, he said that they will seek to promote boat safaris and other recreational activities, with the involvement of the private sector.<\/p>\n

About the Slavery Museum, he said that it gathers and exhibits hundreds of pieces used in the slave trade, is installed in the former property of the Captain of Grenadiers and registers a large influx of tourists who can contribute by visiting that place.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he highlighted the Miradouro da Lua – a must-see tourist spot for anyone leaving Luanda for Barra do Cuanza or the beaches of Cabo Ledo.<\/p>\n

According to the official, lately there has been a large influx of national and foreign tourists in these tourist centers who express the need to stay for some time in these places, thus defending the creation of accommodation conditions for tourists.<\/p>\n
