Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Several recreational and cultural activities take place from Thursday, until the 9th of this month, across the country, within the scope of the National Day of Culture (January 8). <\/b><\/p>\n

The day includes musical themes, poetry recitals and the awarding of diplomas of merit to artists who contribute to the development of national culture.<\/p>\n

When presiding over the opening of activities, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau, underlined that the said date will be commemorated in honor of the Centenary of the founder of the Nation, Agostinho Neto, celebrated in September 2022.<\/p>\n

He referred that the ideas of the first president of Angola, Agostinho Neto, should serve as guidelines for the development of culture.<\/p>\n

“The strategy of Angola’s first president, Agostinho Neto, of building national culture as a uniting factor is fundamental for the development of the sector”, he stressed.<\/p>\n

Filipe Zau highlighted, on the other hand, as priorities for the year 2023, the construction of the Pala\u0301cio da Mu\u0301sica, to give more dignities to artists, as well as the Ngola Memorial and Teka Dia kinda.<\/p>\n

National Culture Day was established in 1979, on the occasion of the first speech on National Culture given by the first President of Angola, Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, during the inauguration of the governing bodies of the Union of Angolan Writers (UEA).<\/p>\n
