Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Political Bureau (BP) of the MPLA Central Committee appealed, this Sunday, for the need to preserve cultural plurality and the Angolan historical heritage, as sources of strengthening identity and collective memory and fostering national awareness and citizenship.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a note, on the occasion of the National Day of Culture, which is celebrated yesterday, the MPLA calls on compatriots, from Cabinda to Cunene, to transform the date into a framework for reflection around the articulation of mechanisms for the promotion of all cultural manifestations, as solid pillars for the enhancement of the identity of Angolans.<\/p>\n

It reiterates that, within the scope of the 2022-2027 Governance Programme, \u201cthe MPLA\u2019s vision is that the cultural and creative sector is a factor in promoting structured and sustainable economic growth, capable of stimulating a wide artistic diversity (…) \u201d.<\/p>\n

The BP of the MPLA uniquely congratulates the makers of national arts who, through their creations and cultural expressions, help to write the history of Angola and Angolans.<\/p>\n

On behalf of its militants, sympathizers and friends of the party, it effusively salutes the celebration of the date, \u201cin the spirit of national unity and with reflection on the ideals and aspirations of the late President Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, for whom \u201cculture corresponds, at each stage, a form of expression and realization of material acts\u201d.<\/p>\n

National Culture Day was established in 1979, on the occasion of the inauguration of the management bodies of the Union of Angolan Writers (UEA).<\/p>\n
