Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor Fernandes, exhorted inspectors from the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA) to strive for rigor, ethics and professional delivery, with a view to guaranteeing the quality of products consumed by Angolans.<\/b><\/p>\n

The exhortation was made at the end of the verification visit carried out at ANIESA’s facilities, located in the administrative building of CLOD, in Viana.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the minister recalled the national challenge of diversifying the economy, where self-sufficiency is sought from the food point of view, so that the various institutions that contribute to guarantee quality must be prepared, with the inspection authority being fundamental in this process .<\/p>\n

Victor Fernandes referred that the inspection activity will gain dimension, because the number of companies has been increasing in the country, reason for which he advises the professionals to continue with the work and to keep ANIESA cohesive and focused.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt should be noted that the operation has no obstacles, the team is small and dynamic, so the concern we take is to increase the staff, because there are few, although very motivated and available for the work that lies ahead\u201d, he stressed. .<\/p>\n

He explained that ANIESA is divided into central and municipal, and from the municipal point of view there is not much need for now.<\/p>\n

However, he pointed out, at central level, where there are about 110 staff, a study is underway to find out the exact number for demand, and then work should be done, together, with the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n

Regarding the inspectors accused of extortion at the end of 2022, he regretted the fact, stating that their identification and accountability means that the competent bodies are working.<\/p>\n

In turn, ANIESA’s general inspector, Dio\u0301genes de Oliveira, expressed his satisfaction with the minister’s visit, as it allowed him to present his difficulties and needs which are embodied in means of transport, better facilities and an increase in the number of employees, in a estimate of more than 600 to 700 inspectors for the whole country.<\/p>\n

Created in 2020, ANIESA is an entity dedicated to carrying out inspection activities on economic activities and results from the merger of sectoral inspection services for Industry, Commerce, Tourism, Environment, Transport, Health, Agriculture and Fisheries.<\/p>\n
