Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The administrative coordinator for the Association of Football Referees of Angola (AAFA), Manuel da Rosa, said Tuesday, in Luanda, that the squad led by Orlando Pimenta is illegal in the management of the sports institution.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the person in charge, who was speaking at a press conference at the Paulo Bunzi Amphitheater, the Association he coordinates was not aware of the electoral process, nor of the electoral commission, which legitimized the election of Orlando Pimenta, assisted by Paulo Talaia.<\/p>\n

He added that Orlando Pimenta and Paulo Talaia did not respect the AAFA regulation, nor the \u201cjudgment\u201d that came out of the Extraordinary Assembly, held on January 23, 2021.<\/p>\n

He clarified that the agreement guided the creation of an administrative commission, led by Manuel da Rosa, and an electoral commission, coordinated by Da\u0301rio Gaspar.<\/p>\n

Next, two competing lists were presented, one by Orlando Pimenta (president) and Paulo Talaia (vice-president) and the other by Francisco Lemos (president) and Joa\u0303o Anto\u0301nio (vice-president).<\/p>\n

He explained, however, that he decided on a single list, expressing surprise at the fact that Orlando Pimenta and Paulo Talaia were ahead of the AAFA, and, even so, legitimized by the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MINJUD).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe election of these two figures does not respect what was agreed in the Assembly. Therefore, as coordinator, I called the press to denounce the situation\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

He admitted calling AAFA members to an Extraordinary Assembly to restore legality, and then holding new elections.<\/p>\n

Manuel da Rosa was president of AAFA from 2013 to 2016, leaving the place for Vicente Garcia (2016 to 2019).<\/p>\n

The AAFA was founded on March 6, 2003, as attested by the Dia\u0301rio da Repu\u0301blica of September 23, 2003, III series number 69. It is a member of the General Assembly of the FAF.<\/p>\n

In December of the same year, the first management bodies were elected, with Severino Cardoso elected.<\/p>\n

The association, which controls 599 members across the country, of which 32 are women, aims to maintain unity and team spirit among its members.<\/p>\n
