Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>One hundred and 12 thousand and 445 identity cards were issued and delivered to citizens in the province of Zaire, within the scope of the civil registration massification campaign and free allocation of this document, carried out from November 2019 to December 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was provided this Wednesday to press by the head of the Provincial Department of Civil and Criminal Identification, Paixa\u0303o Fernando Correia, explaining that the figure reached exceeds the target established by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights for the province of Zaire that the 105 thousand and 579 tickets.<\/p>\n

He added that the figures reached in the process of granting this Angolan citizenship document free of charge resulted from the commitment and dedication of the sector’s technicians who were involved in this undertaking.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe consider the result of the massification of civil registration campaign and free delivery of identity cards here in our region to be positive, as we expected to allocate 105,579 documents at the level of the six municipalities of the province\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the 30 technicians who were involved in the process went to the most remote locations in the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Cuimba, Tomboco, Nzeto and No\u0301qui.<\/p>\n

Among the difficulties encountered and which were overcome throughout the process, the head of the Provincial Department of Civil and Criminal Identification pointed out the reduced number of means of transport and the delay in the payment of subsidies to the brigade members.<\/p>\n

Regarding the normal issue of identity cards with payment of fees, the official said that from January to December 2022, 56 thousand and 485 tickets were issued, of which 34 thousand and 624 belong to citizens who applied for such a document for the first time.<\/p>\n

With the identity cards, 1,095 criminal record certificates were also issued during this period, which resulted in the collection of 36 million, 227 thousand and 307 kwanzas for the State coffers.<\/p>\n

However, Paixa\u0303o Correia reported that more than 8,000 identity cards have been abandoned at the six civil identification posts in the province since 2020.<\/p>\n

He asked the owners to collect them, stressing that many treated tickets end up expiring at civil identification posts.<\/p>\n

The province of Zaire has civil identification posts in the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Tomboco, Nzeto, Cuimba and No\u0301qui.<\/p>\n
