{"id":24835,"date":"2023-01-12T08:31:08","date_gmt":"2023-01-12T08:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/electoral-commission-legitimizes-aafa-leadership"},"modified":"2023-01-12T09:40:53","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T09:40:53","slug":"electoral-commission-legitimizes-aafa-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/electoral-commission-legitimizes-aafa-leadership","title":{"rendered":"Electoral commission legitimizes AAFA leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The current board of the Association of Football Referees of Angola (AAFA) does have legitimacy to lead the body until 2024, contrary to what was announced Tuesday in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Elected on December 20, 2020, the management of the organization&#8217;s management bodies, led by Orlado Pimenta, is considered illegal by an administrative commission created by a group of associates, led by Manuel da Rosa.<\/p>\n<p>The former president of the organization (2013 to 2016) accused the current leadership of the AAFA, Tuesday, at a press conference in Luanda, of having acted outside the law by ignoring the decision of a consensus list and self-proclaiming become the winner of the election.<\/p>\n<p>On the subject, this Wednesday, in the country&#8217;s capital, the then president of the electoral commission, Omar Ndavoka, who attributes legitimacy to the current squad.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the accusations of illegality are unfounded since the act that consecrated Orlando Pimenta as president of the Association had the participation of the affiliates and supervision of the Ministry of youth and sport and the Angola Football Federation.<\/p>\n<p>He added that, initially, two lists applied, one led by Francisco Lemos, who did not continue, and the other by Orlando Pimenta, the latter elected for the four-year period 2020\/2024.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that via Zoom, representatives of the 18 provinces who voted unanimously participated in the act, since the country was closed due to Covid-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>AAFA was founded on March 6, 2003, being a member of the General Assembly of the FAF.
