Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Zambian Head of State, Hakainde Hichilema, pays a few hours visit to the province of Benguela, to find out about the economic infrastructures, as part of the relaunch of cooperation between Angola and Zambia.<\/b><\/p>\n

In the morning, before traveling to Benguela, Hakainde Hichilema met, in Luanda, the President of the Republic of Angola, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, whom he said goodbye to, as part of the official visit that began last Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The agenda of the President of Zambia, in Benguela, includes a trip to the Government Palace, for a courtesy meeting, and another to the city of Lobito, to find out about the potential of the Port of Lobito, the Benguela Railway ( CFB) and the Refinery.<\/p>\n

In Angola, at the invitation of President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, Hakainde Hichilema visited the Mausoleum of the first Angolan President, Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, and laid a wreath on the tomb of the former President of the country, Jose\u0301 Eduardo dos Santos.<\/p>\n

He participated in a solemn session of the National Assembly, in which he spoke.<\/p>\n

As part of the 72-hour visit of the statesman, Angola and Zambia reinforced bilateral cooperation, with the signing of six legal instruments.<\/p>\n

The signing of five memorandums of understanding and an agreement was witnessed, on Wednesday, by the Head of State of Angola, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, and his counterpart Hakainde Hichilema.<\/p>\n

With regard to the memorandums of understanding, those of cooperation were signed between the National School of Administration and Public Policies (ENAPP) of Angola and the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), as well as between the sectors of Justice and Human Rights.<\/p>\n

The other memorandums of understanding refer to the construction of border connection roads between both countries, in the Jimbe (Angola) \u2013 Mwinulunga\/Mapelenga\/Sikongo (Zambia) sections.<\/p>\n

The cooperation between the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) and the Zambian Development Agency (ZDA) – Zambia’s Development Agency – is also included in the memorandums.<\/p>\n

The fifth signed Memorandum of Understanding is on cooperation between the National Institute of Quality Infrastructures (INIQ) of Angola and the Zambian Bureau of Standards (ZABS), regarding standardisation, conformity assessment and training.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Angola and Zambia also signed an agreement for the creation of the Bilateral Cooperation Commission.<\/p>\n

In May 2018, Angola and Zambia had already signed five cooperation agreements, which, at the time, totaled 14 legal instruments signed between both States.<\/p>\n
