Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The diplomatic corps encouraged, this Thursday, the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, to continue with his efforts to improve the living conditions of Angolans and to maintain Angola as an unavoidable actor in the construction of peace and global stability .<\/b><\/p>\n

The encouragement is contained in the message read by the dean of the diplomatic corps accredited in Angola and Polish ambassador, Piotr Mysiliwie, at the New Year greetings ceremony to the Angolan statesman, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

He praised the personal commitment of the President of the Republic in resolving the \u201cold multidimensional conflict\u201d in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)\u201d.<\/p>\n

Piotr Mysiliwie said that diplomacy follows Angolan actions, at summits in the country and other capitals, for the pacification of the Great Lakes region and the world.<\/p>\n

Angola is an indispensable tower in the global construction of peace and stability, for the development of the world and general well-being, he stressed.<\/p>\n

He exhorted governments and individuals to act always thinking about the well-being of future generations, referring that the Angolan people value the advantages of life in peace.<\/p>\n

He praised the initiatives of the Angolan first lady, Ana Dias Lourenc\u0327o, in favor of children, with programs such as “born to shine”, which conveys the perspective of healthy children in families with HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>\n

The Polish diplomat also condemned the conflict in Ukraine for threatening world peace and security.<\/p>\n

He recalled that in November 2022 the world population reached eight billion people, questioning whether the world would be prepared to face such demographic growth.<\/p>\n

He valued the organization of the climate summit in Egypt for the fact that the countries of the world tried to find solutions to halt climate change and prevent a catastrophe.<\/p>\n

The Polish ambassador said that the future of cooperation with Angola involves promoting a green economy and international cooperation to counter climate change trends.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, the Spanish ambassador, Manuel Lejarreta, confirmed, for February, a state visit by the King of Spain, Filipe VI, with a view to strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

Angola is a strategic country and it will be the first time that King Philip VI will visit a sub-Saharan state, he added.<\/p>\n

Manuel Lejarreta considered that there were still large spaces to explore in the field of cooperation between the two countries and that trade between them was around US$1 billion, essentially resulting from the export of oil and gas to the European country.<\/p>\n

Cape Verde’s ambassador, Jorge Figueredo, said that cooperation with Angola is essentially aimed at exploring air and maritime transport, which should be reinforced in 2023.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese ambassador, Francisco Alegre Duarte, said that relations are excellent and foresees a good year for both countries.<\/p>\n

He stated that the consulate in Luanda is the largest issuer of entry visas, hoping that the mobility agreement, initialed within the scope of the CPLP, will, in fact, facilitate the movement of citizens between the member countries.<\/p>\n

Francisco Duarte believes that there is great potential for Angola and Portugal to cooperate in the field of clean energy production.<\/p>\n

Osvalda Joana, the Mozambican ambassador, underlined that economic cooperation with Angola has had major impacts, with a view to diversifying the economy of both countries.<\/p>\n

He said that his country could provide technicians for the promotion of agriculture in Angola.<\/p>\n

Osvalda Joana confirmed that there is an \u201cextremely high\u201d debt with Angola, \u201cthe amount of which he did not specify, and that the finance ministries of the two countries are negotiating the modality to settle it.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican head of diplomatic mission considered the crisis in Cabo Delgado to be an external invasion in a province where the exploitation of natural resources began.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an attempt to impede the development of the region\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n
