Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The first secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cubango, Jose\u0301 Martins, reiterated, this Friday, in Menongue, the commitment to continue working to promote the well-being of the population and the sustainable development of the province.<\/b><\/p>\n

The party official, who was speaking at the New Year’s greeting ceremony, acknowledged that the victory of the MPLA, in the last general elections of August 24, 2022, resulted from the union and strength of the Angolan people, hence the reason for all efforts to be henceforth, turned to the satisfaction of the electoral promises, outlined for the five-year period 2022-2027.<\/p>\n

He underlined that the victory at the polls represents, for the party members, an added responsibility, for which they should pay greater attention so that the aspirations of the population are fulfilled.<\/p>\n

The politician recalled that the leaders, cadres, militants, friends and supporters, as a result of the results achieved in the 2022 general elections, must, once again, put “their foot on the accelerator” and work harder to seek to satisfy the pressing anxieties of the people.<\/p>\n

Without specifying numbers, the governance program foresees for the health sector the construction of more hospitals, centers and health posts, recruitment of new specialists, including doctors, nurses, diagnostic and therapeutic technicians and hospital support staff, for the improvement of medical\/drug assistance.<\/p>\n

In the education sector, the construction of more schools at different levels of education and technical-professional training centers is reserved, which will imply the framing of new staff.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Martins also spoke of the completion of more than 60 projects initiated within the scope of the PIIM and other actions, including the rehabilitation of roads and bridges, integrated infrastructures in all municipal headquarters and housing, with emphasis on the conclusion of the first phase of the centrality do Tucuve, in Menongue.<\/p>\n

In agriculture, the first secretary promises to work with the government to improve the working conditions of cooperatives, with the distribution of tractors, availability of fertilizers subsidized by the State, agricultural inputs and seeds, as well as the opening of three new large community fields in the municipalities. from Cuangar, Calai and Dirico.<\/p>\n

The fields, according to the politician, will be fed by irrigation systems for sustainable agriculture, to get out of total dependence on rain, since the drought environment in the region is cyclical.<\/p>\n

He informed that, in addition to the project already started to expand the water distribution network and household connections in Menongue, the program will be extended to other municipalities, where there is a deficit in the supply of the product, as well as the implementation of the Photovoltaics.<\/p>\n

There is also an increase in power, soon, in addition to the current 25 MW of the Cuebe power plant, in Menongue, the operation of the 2nd diesel unit, with a capacity of 27 MWts.<\/p>\n

For the promotion of youth employability, Jose\u0301 Martins ensured the continuity of the PAPE, with training actions, kits and micro credits for the start of their respective income-generating activities, which will create jobs.<\/p>\n

With regard to the development of human capital, the also governor of Cuando Cubango said that he will develop corporate training actions for the government team, through training, scholarships and internships to increase the skills and knowledge of the team of leaders, and collaborators.<\/p>\n
