Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, leaves the country on Saturday, bound for the United Arab Emirates, where he will participate, in the city of Abu Dhabi, in the Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2023, taking place from the 14th to the 19th of this month.<\/b><\/p>\n

Sustainability week is a forum dedicated to the environment, promoted every year, for this period, by the Government of the United Arab Emirates, according to the secretary for Institutional Communication and Press of the President of the Republic, Lui\u0301s Fernando.<\/p>\n

As part of this event, the Angolan Head of State will participate, on Tuesday, the 17th, in a panel reserved for a debate on access to clean, available and reliable energy and how crucial this is for the development of the African continent.<\/p>\n

The referred panel will also have the participation of the Heads of State of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, and of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu.<\/p>\n

This is the second time that the Angolan President has been invited to express his ideas about a more sustainable world, in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The first time was in January 2019.<\/p>\n

This year, the summit takes place under the central theme “United in Climate Action towards COP28”.<\/p>\n

The event’s program provides for the holding, for the first time, of a Green Hydrogen Summit, focusing on the process of decarbonizing industries and consequently the environment.<\/p>\n

Between 16 and 18 January, Sustainability Week 2023 will focus attention on the involvement of young people in climate action, with the Youth for Sustainability platform, which aims to attract 3,000 young people.<\/p>\n

That week will also feature the annual forum of the Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy platform at Masdar, giving women a voice in the debate.<\/p>\n
