Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The municipality of Quilengues, Hui\u0301la province, has since Monday, a district court, inaugurated by the president of the Supreme Court (TS), Joel Leonardo, with the aim of bringing justice services closer to the citizen.<\/b><\/p>\n

The institution’s facilities were rehabilitated from an old building, with a budget of 66 million kwanzas, and include offices for the presiding judge, judges, prosecutors and lawyers, as well as courtrooms, a judicial office, cells and a archive.<\/p>\n

After the inauguration of the infrastructure, Joel Leonardo, also president of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSMJ), said that the construction and consolidation of the democratic rule of law in the country was being reaffirmed.<\/p>\n

He said that this State is not enough to be formed, it has to be material, in which its institutions exist to serve, welcome and solve the problems of the citizen.<\/p>\n

He stated that the citizens of Quilengues and surroundings will have, in the court, a place to see their problems, anxieties and needs “softened”, based on the assumption that justice services only exist if the population seeks the facilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to maintaining speed, the court open to attend to the concerns of the citizen. Let’s not take justice into our own hands, it’s not restorative. Let us hand over our disputes to the state authorities, \u201dhe continued.<\/p>\n

He asked the judge of the said court, Joa\u0303o Baptista Domingos, to reassure the population and attract traders, investors, academics, as well as reassure the traditional authorities as partners in the sense of building a fair State of democratic law.<\/p>\n

In turn, the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic for the Southern Judiciary Region, Herna\u0302ni Beira Grande, said that the court constitutes the realization of the approximation of justice to citizens, which is being verified throughout the country.<\/p>\n

The governor of Hui\u0301la, Nuno Manhapi, reiterated that it will be done to give more dignity to all those who make Angolan justice ever more fair and closer to the citizen.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we have done is still little. We are aware that we must do more, and we will not stop. We will continue to do our best so that our populations feel the effort, and this is our commitment\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n

The province of Hui\u0301la now has four district courts, namely those in Lubango, Caconda and Matala, which opened today in Quilengues.<\/p>\n

Joel Leonardo, accompanied by a delegation from the Superior Council of the Judiciary, also scheduled visits to all other district courts in Hui\u0301la, to meet with magistrates and court officials.<\/p>\n
