Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The winner of the national phase of the writing contest for secondary schools of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) 2022 edition, Casimira Pimenta, will benefit from a scholarship awarded by the Government of Huambo.<\/b><\/p>\n

The announcement was made this Tuesday by the governor of Huambo province, Lotti Nolika, during the tribute to the winning student of the contest, which had the participation of 33 newsrooms, representing the 18 provinces of Angola.<\/p>\n

Casimira Pimenta, 19 years old, is attending the 1st year of the law course at the Instituto Superior Polite\u0301cnico Sol Nascente in Huambo.<\/p>\n

Also honored at the event were the Jiu-Jitsu athlete, who won third place in the 2022 World Championship in the sport, in the 63 kg category, held in Abu-Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and the judoka Edmira Second, seller, by team, and, at the same time, runner-up, in individual, of the SADC V region games.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Lotti Nolika said that the Government of the province of Huambo would do everything to cover the fees for the seller of the SADC Writing contest until she completed her higher education.<\/p>\n

The governor also announced the reactivation of the judo athlete’s scholarship, recently awarded by the municipal administration of Huambo, who was attending high school in a private institution.<\/p>\n

Likewise, he promised to support the jiu-jitsu athlete, who finished high school in 2018.<\/p>\n

Lotti Nolika said that the intention stems from the fact that they raise the image of the country and the province of Huambo, in particular.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a great blessing for the province, as they are examples like these that other young people should follow\u201d, stressed the governor, who encouraged the honorees to remain firm in their actions.<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed the continued support of the Government of the province of Huambo to all who dedicate themselves to different areas of social life, in order to continue to raise the image of the region.<\/p>\n

Casimira Pimenta was declared the winner by writing the best essay among the 33 competitors of the recent edition, which took place under the theme “How SADC can increase production capacity in the face of Covid-19”.<\/p>\n

As a result, the former student of the 12th grade of the Liceu Comandante Kapango, where she completed secondary education last school year, will represent, along with Irina Sardinha, from the Instituto Me\u0301dio Comercial de Luanda (12th), and Ecliseaste Ricardo, from the Instituto Polite\u0301cnico de Benguela (12th), second and third ranked, respectively, the country in the regional phase of SADC, whose winners will be announced in the coming months.<\/p>\n
