Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The second volume of the work entitled “Memories” by author Julia\u0303o Mateus Paulo “Dino Matrosse”, is on newsstands since Thursday, portraying the events experienced in the period from 1971 to 1977.<\/b>
\n<\/p>\n

The book launch, which took place at the Memorial, Dr. Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, was honored by the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenc\u0327o, in addition to members of the MPLA party, civil society and historians.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

After volume 1 (1961-1971), in this work, the author portrays the personal experience lived throughout his active and continuous participation in the Angolan national liberation war against the Portuguese invaders who settled in Angola, since 1575.<\/p>\n

It also portrays foreign incursions into the country, essentially in the period from 1971 to 1977.<\/p>\n

The focus of this 397-page volume focuses on some of the final years under Portuguese colonial rule in Angola.<\/p>\n

Dino Matrosse refers to what he calls the “troubled” pre- and post-independence period in Angola, with the “tragic” events of May 27, 1977.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

With this book, Dino Matrosse makes some narratives around the period experienced, thus contributing to the enrichment of the history of Angola, with a vast real knowledge of the author about the problems and facts that occurred and reported.<\/p>\n

Based on various archival documents in the author’s possession, the book mentions the “modus operandi” of each political tendency, this in the first chapter of the work.<\/p>\n

In the second chapter, the author addresses the situation in Angola after the events of the 25th of April 1974 in Portugal, and in the third the “fateful” episodes of the 27th of May.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The author expressed his satisfaction with the work.<\/p>\n

“I wrote the truths I know. My truth may not be someone else’s”, said Dino Matrosse to the press.<\/p>\n

For the vice-president of the MPLA party, Lui\u0301sa Damia\u0303o, this is a work that will contribute to the enrichment of Angola’s history, appealing for more initiatives in this path.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“Congratulations are due to the author for yet another work of memoirs and we advise the new generations to read it in order to know, in fact, the contribution of adults in the history of Angola”, praised Lui\u0301sa Damia\u0303o.<\/p>\n

Historian Corne\u0301lio Calei, who prefaced the book, said that the author brings an “adventure” to society by touching on some points that he considers to be “taboo” in the history of Angola, as is the case of the 27th of May.<\/p>\n

The author has five works, including “Dino Matrosse na Mira da PIDE”.<\/p>\n
