Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The new vice-president of the Constitutional Court (TC), Victoria Manuel da Silva Izata, said that she will be guided by responsibility and impartiality in the exercise of her functions, which began this Friday, in order to correspond to the powers of this judicial body.<\/b><\/p>\n

Victo\u0301ria Izata, who was sworn in friday by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, was speaking at the presentation ceremony, held at the Constitutional Court, under the guidance of its President, Laurinda Cardoso.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“We always work with responsibility, loyalty and impartiality. Therefore, we will follow this aim and that is what we will do until the end”, said the judge-counselor, for whom this body of justice has always remained impartial.<\/p>\n

Upon acknowledging an increase in responsibility, the magistrate reminded those present that she is part of the court and that she will seek to zealously meet the challenges presented to her, giving as an example the detailed appreciation of all processes.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the president of the Constitutional Court, Laurinda Cardoso, said goodbye to the former vice-president of the body, Guilhermina Prata, who was retired due to age limit.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Guilhermina Prata, also appointed on Friday as Angola’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to France, thanked the Constitutional Court collective for the support provided since 2016, when she was nominated by the National Assembly.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the ceremony, witnessed by the Attorney General of the Republic, He\u0301lder Pitta Gro\u0301s, and by the Minister of the Interior, Euge\u0301nio Laborinho, the new Counselor Judge of the Constitutional Court, Victorino Hossi, proposed by the UNITA Parliamentary Group to join that body, was also presented.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In his speech, Victorino Hossi reiterated that the nation comes first, so that the best must be done for the well-being of the populations.<\/p>\n

The two judges were elected on the 13th of this month, by the National Assembly.<\/p>\n
