Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Ju\u0301nior, said yesterday in Parliament, during the discussion on the specialty of the OGE proposal, that the country has achieved macroeconomic stability, thanks to the trajectory of economic growth marked since 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the extraordinary session with the ministers of the economic team and the real sector of the economy, the official announced that the Executive is drawing up the National Development Plan, for the period 2023\/2027, having underlined that it is the document that will establish the options strategies for the development of the country in the next five years.<\/p>\n

“It will be based on this document that all the country’s financial management will be carried out from now on”, he went on to say, and then added that the preparation of the said plan will be based on three fundamental pillars.<\/p>\n

The first, he said, has to do with “the human development of the country”, which is expected to deal with special aspects, such as education, health, technical and professional training and the issue of employment, while the second, he said, has the to do with “the expansion and modernization of infrastructures”, with a focus on aspects related to water, energy, roads, ports and airports.<\/p>\n

The third and last pillar, according to the minister, is related to “the need to intensify and accelerate the process of diversification of the country’s economy”, which he says is ongoing.<\/p>\n

“Our forecast is that we will have completed it during the first quarter of this year”, he admitted, calling for the need for the country to remain on the path of economic growth resumed in 2021, after five years of recession.<\/p>\n

The Minister of State recalled that during the recession period, the economy had been decreasing every year and successively, welcoming the fact that it had managed to stop the less good phase and return to growth, from this point on .<\/p>\n

“It’s important that we do everything in our power, so that we don’t have a situation of recession again, although the situation and the international context are quite challenging. If we don’t manage to keep on this path, all the other social problems that the country lives, fundamentally unemployment, will not be solved\u201d, he admitted.<\/p>\n

He referred that it is essential that, in this process of keeping the country on the path of economic development, the role of the State and the private sector be clearly defined. He clarified that, in relation to the State, tasks must be defined, pointing out that the first is “to guarantee political stability”, security and order in the country, as well as macroeconomic stability and the necessary infrastructure for the country to can develop.<\/p>\n

“All the rest, we must make the private sector the driving force behind Angola’s growth and development. We have obtained revenues greater than expenditures. Our external accounts are also balanced. Both the current account and the balance of payments have been in surplus. Let’s say that, at a crucial moment in our history, we managed to achieve macroeconomic stability”, he revealed.<\/p>\n
