{"id":2591,"date":"2022-02-07T10:31:37","date_gmt":"2022-02-07T10:31:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/jose-calengi-assumes-the-direction-of-ine"},"modified":"2022-02-07T12:21:16","modified_gmt":"2022-02-07T12:21:16","slug":"jose-calengi-assumes-the-direction-of-ine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/jose-calengi-assumes-the-direction-of-ine","title":{"rendered":"Jos\u00e9 Calengi assumes the direction of INE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The National Statistics Institute (INE) has, since last week, a new director-general, in this case, economist Jos\u00e9 Calengi, replacing Chaney John, who was dismissed at the end of January by the Minister of Economy and Planning, M\u00e1rio Caetano Jo\u00e3o.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>According to a note published on the institution&#8217;s website, in the same order, Hernany Pena Lu\u00eds and An\u00e1lia Prata were appointed, respectively, to the positions of deputy directors of the Social and Demographic, as well as Economic and Financial departments.<\/p>\n<p>The note also notes that the new directorate of INE expresses its total availability to continue strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, in addition to continuing to participate in the enhancement of national, regional and global statistics.<\/p>\n<p>Until the date of his appointment, Jos\u00e9 dos Santos Francisco Calengi was head of the Department of National Accounts and Statistical Coordination at INE. In turn, Chaney Rosa John had been appointed in 2020, replacing Camilo Ceita, who ran the institute for nine years.<\/p>\n<p>INE is a public institution, which enjoys autonomy and legal, technical, administrative and financial capacity, with the mission of promoting, coordinating, collecting, processing and disseminating official national statistical information, in the light of article 18 of the National Statistical System Law.
