Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Economy and Planning (MEP), Ma\u0301rio Caetano Joa\u0303o, said this Wednesday, in Luanda, that the Government expects an average annual economic growth of 3.5% to reduce the weight of the oil sector by just 20% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2027.<\/b><\/p>\n

He underlined that, for that, it is required that the non-oil sector grow 4.5% and the oil sector, approximately 1.1% annually.<\/p>\n

\u201c(…) We are going to ensure that the non-oil sector is responsible for approximately 80% of GDP\u201d, said the minister, noting that the sector currently contributes around 25%.<\/p>\n

The minister highlighted the implementation, by the Government, of the Macroeconomic Reform Programme, with the support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which made it possible to stabilize all macroeconomic indicators, with an inflation of 13%.<\/p>\n

He recalled that, before, the macroeconomic situation had substantial levels, reaching an inflation that was around 27% and a public debt that approached around 120% of the GDP.<\/p>\n

Ma\u0301rio Caetano Joa\u0303o says that the perspective for 2023 is to transform all MEP gains into an institutional asset and work on sustainability, closing the long-term Strategy and the National Development Plan (PDN) 2023-2027.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, the PND will be different because \u201cwe do not want a plan focused only on public expenditure, where the State cannot be the only one to implement the plan, having to make its national and international partners have more space\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Government, he stressed, is in the planning process of the PND that will give rise to the Program of Support to Production, Diversification of Exports and Substitution of Imports-PRODESI 2.0.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to finance 1500 projects this year. Planagra\u0303o will absorb around 230 billion kwanzas and Planapecua\u0301ria, approximately 500 billion kwanzas\u201d, he reinforced.<\/p>\n

He explained that in 2022 around 2,000 economic operators in the country were financed and 100 producers were registered on the National Production Portal.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Economy and Planning yesterday promoted the balance sheet and perspectives event (MEP 2022-2023), having, on the occasion, awarded distinction to companies and people that contribute to the process of implementing the Program to Support Production, Export Diversification and Replacement Imports (PRODESI) and the Informal Economy Reconversion Program (PREI).<\/p>\n
