{"id":26132,"date":"2023-01-26T07:19:29","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T07:19:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/more-than-50-percent-of-companies-in-angola-commit-tax-evasion"},"modified":"2023-01-26T07:35:42","modified_gmt":"2023-01-26T07:35:42","slug":"more-than-50-percent-of-companies-in-angola-commit-tax-evasion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/more-than-50-percent-of-companies-in-angola-commit-tax-evasion","title":{"rendered":"More than 50 percent of companies in Angola commit tax evasion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>More than 50 percent of the 200,000 corporate taxpayers controlled by the General Tax Administration (AGT) registration base in the country, evade the tax authorities, without submitting income tax returns within the established period.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The AGT Tax Studies Center database controls six million taxpayers, mostly individuals and the remaining 200,000 are companies.<\/p>\n<p>According to the National Director of the AGT&#8217;s Center for Tax Studies, Cristina Muengo, who was speaking to the press at the opening of the annual program of education and tax citizenship, the number of taxpayers represents seven regions of the country.<\/p>\n<p>He recalled that taxes serve to fund both the state machine and public services, such as health, education and security, that is, they are levied on three bases, consumption, income and assets of citizens and companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a representative number by region that it is very difficult for us to obtain declarations within a deadline, hence we never reach 50 percent of registered taxpayers. Our focus is to bring those who are in this situation to their regularization\u201d, he reinforced.<\/p>\n<p>He made it known that, as a result of this, AGT, through the Center for Tax Studies, has the role of promoting training and information actions at the level of its taxpayers, from students, individuals and companies, to the culture of paying tax that it imposes itself.<\/p>\n<p>He recalled that in November 2022, AGT trained more than eight thousand people, including teachers, students, including private citizens and companies, in order to bring the company&#8217;s services closer to society.<\/p>\n<p>For the current year, they plan to train more than ten thousand people from various social strata, within the scope of the tax payment culture, at a time when the AGT&#8217;s mission is to collect revenue for the State.<\/p>\n<p>Seven regions belong to the AGT, the first (Cabinda and Zaire), the second (Malanje, Cuanza Norte and Ui\u0301ge), the third (Luanda and Bengo), the fourth (Benguela, Cuanza Sul, Huambo and Bie\u0301), the fifth (Namibe and Hui\u0301la ), sixth (Cuando Cubango and Cunene) and seventh (Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and Moxico).<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\">Angola<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
